 Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind;

it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees;

it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions;

it is the freshness of the deep springs of life---Samuel Ullman(1840-1924).

Wen-Yao (Grace) Wang

Welcome to my homepage.

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Economic Department at Texas A&M University. My fields of specialization are monetary, international, and econometrics. My research focuses on the possibility on banking crises. It has two parts. The first part focuses on the deposit insurance system and the moral hazard problem in banks' behaviors. Although some people argue that the deposit insurance system may actually increase the risk of banking crises because of banks' moral hazard problem, a significant welfare improvement is achievable from a well-designed partial deposit insurance system. The second part of my research focuses on the illiquidity problem in banking system which causes financial crises; moreover, the corresponding monetary and exchange rate policies are evaluated to prevent financial fragility.
