Steven Puller, associate professor of economics, has been appointed a faculty research fellow for the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) program on Environmental and Energy Economics.
Jonathan Meer and Harvey Rosen, professor of economics at Princeton University, are the recipients of the H.S. Warwick Research Award for Outstanding Published Scholarship for "Altruism and the Child Cycle of Alumni Donations," published by the American Economic Journal: Economic Policy (vol 1, no. 1). The research explores motivations for alumni giving and whether contributions are affected by the expectation of a reciprocal benefit.
Professor John Hanson presented an invited paper entitled "Denominations Galore: Hand-to-Hand Currency in Colonial Pennsylvania" at the international conference Paper Money in Theory and Practice in History held at Colombia University April 16-18, 2009.

James William Wiese, a senior ECON major, will be inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. He will be studying abroad at the London School of Economics next year. At LSE, he plans to further explore his interests in economics, especially its application to law and social policy, while spending his free time exploring the culinary offerings of France and the rest of the continent.
