Bio

Leonardo Auernheimer, born in Argentina, received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1973, when he joined Texas A&M. His research is in the area of monetary economics and open economy macroeconomics, and has been published in the Journal of Political Economy, Econometrica, the American Economic Review, and the Journal of Monetary Economics, among others. He is an Associate Editor of the Journal of Applied Economics and a former Associate Editor of the Journal of Development Economics. He has been a frequent consultant to the World Bank in the evaluation of macroeconomic programs in many Latin American countries, as well as in Mongolia, the Republic of Georgia and Lebanon, and a frequent Visiting Scholar at the International Monetary Fund.
