The Korea Energy Economics Institute (KEEI) is a government-sponsored research institute in South Korea, conducting policy-oriented and practical researches on energy and environmental issues (website: http://www.keei.re.kr). We have openings for research fellow position and invites applications from qualified economists in the following fields: Macroeconomics and International Economics (Regional Economic Cooperation);
Microeconomics and Resource & Environmental Economics (Bottom up Modeling);

Qualifications: (1) Applicants should have a Ph.D. in economics, or should complete all requirements for the Ph.D. by the end of June 30, 2003.
(2) Applicants should either be Korean citizens who have the mandatory military service requirement fulfilled or waived (or plan to fulfill the requirement as a researcher at KEEI), or be fluent in Korean.

Applications are welcomed from young professionals with outstanding records in academic research. The selection will be made based on research potential. The BK 21 Education and Research Program is financially supported by the Korean Ministry of Education.

  • Salaries will be around 36 million Won per year for a contract professor and around 22 million Won per year for a postdoctoral fellow, depending upon research experience. The initial contract will run for a minimum of six months up to one year, and thereafter extension may be considered for post-doctoral fellows up to one more year and up to two more years for contract professors.
