Election of 2006 Officers

Nominees for Executive Committee and Advisory Board

The 2005 Nominating Committee has selected the following nominees for the Executive Committee for 2006 and the current Advisory Board selected a nominee for the Board member to replace Professor John Riew whose term expires this year. Click on the name to see their short c.v., which is limited to less than 3 page long.

The Article VIII.3 of the ByLaws allows nomination of candidates "by three percent (3%) or more of the membership."  Twenty members (with five signatures) nominated

President-Elect:      Yong Hun Kim

Professor Yong Hun Kim accepted the nomination on October 5 and sent his c.v. on October 12.


Election Schedules

President Kyoo H. Kim announced on October 5 the following election schedules.

1. Cut-off date for voting; Friday, October 28, 2005: Any member who wishes to cast a vote this year must pay the 2005 due or life-time membership due by then. Your mail containing the due must be postmarked on or before October 28, 2005.

2. Date for mailing out ballots: Monday, November 7, 2005

3. Ballot-return date: Friday, December 9, 2005: Returned ballots containing your vote must be postmarked on or before December 9, 2005.

Appointments of Tellers

On September 13, 2005, President Kyoo H. Kim appointed Professor Bong Joon Yoon in the Department of Economics at SUNY-Binghamton as the teller.

On December 5, 2005, President Kyoo H. Kim appointed another teller, Professor Yong Jin Kim in the School of Management at SUNY-Binghamton, in consultation with president-elect candidate Yong H. Kim and the Nominating Committee, and in accordance with Article VIII.5 of the Bylaws.

They will open and count the votes at 10 am on Monday, December 19, 2005.
