Chung, Young-Iob would like to inform the members that his book, "South Korea in the Fast Lane: Economic Development and Capital Formation," 466 pages, has just been published (June 2007) by Oxford University Press. This is the follow-up publication of "Korea Under Siege, 1876-1945: Capital Formation and Economic Transformation," 380 pages, published last year (2006) also by Oxford University Press. Kim, Hugo: has recently moved to a new location about 40 minutes of driving from Washinton (see the directory for the new address). He sent a conference program held at Honolulu last month (click Program). (posted on July 28, 2007)

Kim, YoungJun: sent in the following great news about the awards he received: "Last Thursday (10/4) was the Founder’s day here at Henderson State University and I received two awards that day. The first one is "Outstanding New Faculty Award" and the other is "Excellence in Scholarly Activity Award". These awards are given to only one faculty member out of the entire faculty at Henderson State University." (posted on October 8, 2007)

YOO, Jang-Hee: was selected as a new member of the Korean Academy of Sciences in the economics field. He will be at the ASSA meeting in New Orleans. (posted on October 18, 2007)
