KIM, E. Han: was ranked 40th out of a total of 12,637 individuals who published at least one article in the leading finance journals over the past 25 years, according to a recent paper by Chung, Cox, and Mitchell, "Citation Patterns in the Finance Literature," that can be downloaded from Social Science Research Network Electronic Paper Collection.
KIM, Kwan S.:edited volume by Macmillan titled, " Growth, Distribution and Political Change - Asia and the Wider World" ( 2000), has been translated into Japanese under the title of "Shotoku Fuheido no Seiji Keizaigaku (Poltical Economy of Inequality)", by M. Makino, A.Hashino & T. Hashino (Tokyo: Toyo Keizai Shinbunsa, 2000). Pp.278. His other recent publications include: "Market Liberalization and the Problem of Governance in South Korea," in Xiaoming Huang ed. The Political and Economic Transition in East Asia. ( Richmond, United Kingdom: Curzon Press, 2001). 27-54, and "Income Distribution and Poverty - an Interregional Comparison," in F.Ackerman, N.R. Goodwin, L.Dougherty, & K.Gallagher ed. He has recently been named to the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Development Planning Literature, a quarterly journal of the Jan Tinbergen Institute of Development Planning, and has also been re-elected to the Advisory Board of the North American Economic and Finance Association. He is currently listed in Who's Who by the American Biographical Institute and the Cambridge International Biographical Center.
KIM, Suk-Hi: presented an Asia lecture, "Why is Asia important for Daimler-Chrysler?" for Daimler-Chrisler executives in its headqurters in Auburn Hill, Michigan, on June 19, 2001. Also, The Center for International Business Education and Research at Indiana University selected his case, "Mexican Peso Crisis of 1994 and GM Operations in Mexico," for inclusion in its case collection and sent the case to the European Case Clearing House for a worldwide distribution.

LEE, Chung Hoon: "I am a visiting professor at the European Institute of Japanese Studies at the Stockholm School of Economics. I am here for one year as a researcher (no teaching obligation although I have given lectures here and there throughout Europe!) generously funded by the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT). My research is basically on Asian economies and I am free to choose topics of my own. Winter here is long and dark but spring is around the corner and is going to be a beautiful time of the year. Summer with its long days is supposed to be better. Stockholm is a beautiful city and is well worth a visit." (April 11, 2001)
OUM, Tae-Hoon: has been elected Vice-President (President-Elect) of the Transportation and Public Utilities Group (TPUG) of the American Economics Association at the AEA-TPUG meeting in New Orleans (Janaury, 2001). Historically, Transportation and Public Utilities areas alternate presidency every year, and as such, Prof. Oum is to assume the AEA-TPUG Presidency at January, 2002 in the AEA meeting in Atlanta. Congratulations!! Professor Oum is UPS Foundation Professor of Management, and Director of Centre for Transportation Studies at University of British Columbia. PARK, Young J.: A belated news. Mr. Young Park who was at FU Associates, Ltd. in Virginia,
passed away last year. He was diagnosed with cancer a number of months prior to his death.
