The EGSA comprises one student from each cohort of the doctoral program, and
one masters student. It is intended to be the representative voice for the student body
in the Economics Department. It has several objectives:
- Represent the interests of the graduate students to the faculty.
- Collect concerns from the graduate students and communicate pertinent
information to them.
- Organize academic social events for the department.
- Cultivate relationships and facilitate
information flow among the student body, faculty, and staff.
- Provide support to the staff in specific tasks such as organization of
meetings and events for both current and prospective students.
- Organize
opportunities for graduate students to present research.
- Facilitate
communication between current students and with former students of the
Economics Department.
- Represent graduate students of the Economics
Department at the Graduate Student Council (GSC) of the university.
The EGSA has
a permamanent email address where all students can actively participate
by providing suggestions, comments, complaints, or praise.
