Bio

Stephanie Houghton is a Texas native, having received her undergraduate degrees from Trinity University in San Antonio. She received her Ph.D. in 2008 from Duke University, where she specialized in industrial organization and applied microeconomics.

Stephanie's research focuses on firms' entry behavior, spatial competition, and the role of distribution networks, especially in the discount retail industry. She has also done empirical research involving highway procurement auctions, analyzing the transactions costs associated with incomplete construction contracts.
