BEC Requirements
Basic Requirements:You must complete the requirements of the College of Liberal Arts for a Bachelor of Science in Economics, including:
MATH 141: Business Mathematics I or Differential and Integral Calculus
MATH 142: Business Mathematics II or Multivariate Calculus
STAT 211 or 303: Principles of Statistics
The special requirements for the Business Economics Program are shown on the previous page and explained on this page. All courses MUST be taken for a letter grade (i.e. no Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory).
Business Foundations Program Requirements:
You must complete the following courses in the Mays Business School required for a minor in business.
Note that ACCT 209 is the prerequisite for FINC 309. It is recommended for all majors pursuing a B.S. degree
that you complete both accounting courses before enrolling in FINC 309.

Applied Economics Course Requirements
You must complete three courses in applied economics: one required in forecasting, and two electives.
Note that the forecasting course has ECMT 463 as a prerequisite. Planning your course sequencing to honor the
course prerequisites is the BEC major's sole responsibility. Please consult with your advisor regularly!
